Twitter is a social networking site a little different from the others. Instead of you having to write this whole long blog like on myspace, about what you’ve been up to; through twitter you can send text messages and update your status, while your at work or school, or from home. Their whole concept is based on “staying connected in real time” by saying “what are you doing?”

I just joined twitter like maybe 2 weeks ago, I had no idea what it was and so I kept hearing about what a great site it was and so I joined, mainly to network but its so much fun. Twitter has become so popular because everyone has something to share with you.

Twitter helps you spread the word, or Promote whatever it is your interested in. Instead of befriending people you don’t know. Twitter allows you to Follow a person meaning follow their updates and the person has the choice of following you aswell.

Whether you’re a writer or an singer, photographer etc. Twitter allows you to network, while checking out other updates from others that you might find interesting. Most people using it have websites, or blogs and some just update their day to day life. I think its a really fun way to get connected. You can also add twitter feeds and post it to your myspace or to your facebook.

One of the best reasons why twitter is so popular, is because a lot of celebrities have started the trend. The #1 Twitter Celebrity I would say is Jimmy Fallon, hes all over it.  It’s cool because you get to see what celebrities are up to. Jimmy Fallon is promoting his new show. On the latest show he decided to run an experiment;A guy by the name of Bryan Brinkman who was in the audience had a twitter acct for 1 month. He  mentioned he had 7 followers. Jimmy Fallon decided to conduct the experiment and asked everyone to follow Bryan. Bryan now has 20,432 followers. Other Celebrities that are tweeting on twitter; Ellen DeGeneres;very funny with her updates, she’s also promoting The Ellen show. She posted some pictures on her twit pic;which I had no idea that was possible, And asked what she should wear. She was in the dressing room getting ready to appear on the Jay Leno show. In addition, Mariah carey,Dane cook, Jimmy kimmel,Ashton kutcher, pdiddy have twitters among many other celebs.  I think twitter is a great idea because sometimes we might forget to watch a certain show on tv and their tweets remind us. Or just go and have people follow your work or day. I’ll leave you with some funny Ellen pics that she posted on her twit pic below.
