Get Ready with me, Get the look!

I decided to put my impressions vanity to good use and do my makeup. Makeup is life, especially when you don’t feel so well. Do your makeup and I guarantee you will have a different outlook on any particular situation. So I thought why not record it. Once again excuse my lack of editing skills. I am getting better though for my second video :).  Okay, so for this look the video is below as well.DSC_0234

Here are the products I used and my thoughts about them…
Brushes MAC limited edition set – They are not the made in france brushes that MAC sells on a regular basis but the limited edition made in china. It came in a christmas set and they do a good job. It came with stippling brush, contour brush and shadow brushes.

For blending the shadow I used bareminerals soft focus blending brush. I have a MAC one but could not find it. It did a pretty good job but the MAC one is softer and glides better.

To apply the powder highlighter I used a sonia kashuk brush. I think  I got it at target. It’s soft. I don’t use it often.
Foundation:   I used Makeup Forever Ultra HD. In the old consistency I was 170, now it’s Y435. This new consistency I find it’s kind of too dry opposed to the other where the foundation just glided in my face.

Concealer:  Mac studio fix in 142. An old one but a goodie. I was introduced to this when I was about 19 years old or even in my early twenties. I can’t remember but it was heaven I asked the makeup artist what he was using on me and I went and bought it the next day. That was my first introduction to MAC studio fix powder and cochleae for this i didn’t use the powder just the cocealer though.
EYES:  Base- I went to a MAC seminar/makeup tutorial a while back and I was introduced to this base. the little tube I show is so faded that I can’t see the writing on it. I believe it might be discontinued and It worked so well in basically erasing the natural color of my lids so that the shadow can serve its purpose. For the Shadow I used the Urban decay Naked 3 Palette. I went for a soft smokey eye. For the outer corner I used Black Heart next, I used Buzz and Trick then I used strange for the inner corner from that palette.
For the Liner- I used  Guerlain’s liquid liner in black. I have recently been using Stila’s liquid liner. The guerlain one is an old favorite of mine. An oldie, but a goodie as well I used the guerlain one just for the upper lid in the surrouding corners,  I used the eye liner pencil for the lower lid from MAC in black.
Blush-   I used a Mac peach color that I’ve had for ages and it never fails. It might be discontinued but they have a lot of similar colors this just really goes well with my complexion.
Now for the contour I am not an expert but I think it came out pretty well on the cheeks and face: I used Guerlain Terracota #2 and it gave me a nice bronzy look.
Contour on nose I used Sephora’s limited edition kit that you see featured in the video. As you can see anything limited edition gives me an instant itch to purchase. That kit or palette contains shadows, blush, lip colors, and colors for brow and eyes. I used the dark brown color for the brows then blended it with Mac’s Soft Meow. I need to perfect the brows.  Lipliner-  I used Mac’s  Stripped Down. I was using cork for a while on my lips but misplaced it and stripped down works well with pinky and peachy nudes as well.
Lipstick-  I went for a nude lip.  I used Pure Zen Mac’s Marilyn Monroe collection, limited edition. So nice, but it melted and so that’s why you see me using my fingers.
Highlighter- Benefit’s High beam, I haven’t used it in a while but it gives you a nice glow and I paired that with  Nars Albetroz that I absolutely love. I used these two in my cheek bone area. for the nose i just used Albetroz.
Setting Powder- Now this is where my review takes a turn I used makeup forever HD setting powder and I found it took away my nice glow and made my skin a little ashy. It looks good on camera but I don’t know next time i will opt out from using that one.

Lashes-  I used Koko Lashes, Misha. It was a mission to put these on but they give you a certain Je nais se quoi.

Okay, please check out my video below. Please like and subscribe. This post has got me wanting to go to mac and sephora now. Tootles… 🙂

I started my own YouTube channel!

•March 23, 2016 • Leave a Comment

imageOkay, I’ve been wanting to have my own YouTube channel for the longest time. I got really into watching YouTube videos to learn How-Tos and to get reviews on items I wanted to buy back in 2009. My first video has just been published. Please excuse my lack of editing experience.I might even redo this video at a later time but for now… it’s my first video!  It’s about my designer handbag collection. I actually missed my Insolite wallet. I was so excited that i didn’t feature a handbag and two small leather goods from LV. I recorded it several times. My camera died, my son was still awake and then by the end of the video he got really sick. I then ended up getting sick that morning and i am still under the weather but since I had more energy today. I was able to edit it. I’ve never edited before and i noticed I cut myself off after I uploaded the video. Anyway, I will get better I promise. Please like and subscribe. I plan to feature hair products reviews, collections and Hauls/reviews.

Article: Embracing my natural hair, heritage and skin color: Overcoming prejudices.

Me, Now, Happy :)

Okay, so this is not a review. I want to incorporate reviews on natural hair products and so this is a good article to introduce to you what I am about. This a  personal account on how I finally accepted myself in its entirety, as a dark skin Latina, Afro Dominican mixed chick female in front of society. This might be a very long article. This might be somewhat of a controversial topic to some but in my eyes its my experience. Okay, so I was born in NYC. I have a Dominican mother. My father wasn’t in my life. My mom was a single mother and this is why I do not claim my Colombian side. However, I do identify with the culture because like I said I lived in NYC and experienced its diverse cultures and danced in many festivals as a kid and in the past even represented colombia in those festivals.

Review: Shredz Alpha-Female Stack for energy/weight loss.

foreverfit1

This is not a full review on Shredz Alpha-female stack as I haven’t used it for very long. However, I have used it for long enough to know if it’s affecting me in a negative way. I’m happy to report it is all positive if you use them the right way for your body. I have used it for 5 days now. Before purchasing it I read about a lot of people getting the jitters and not being able to sleep. I did some research on it and still decided to buy it. I had a baby almost 6 months ago and I am determined to lose the baby weight and get fit. When I was 6 months postpartum with my first son I was progressing and had a personal trainer, but that gets expensive quickly. I lacked a lot of energy this time around and decided to try this out. The first two nights I worked out way too late and took the last burner and toner late as well. I couldn’t sleep at night and felt like I was crashing, the next 3  days I ate my breakfast and took the burner and the detox. When I was ready to work out I took another burner and took the two toners 30 minutes before I worked out. I have just been doing yoga right now. I look at taking these supplements sort of like a booster to help me get motivated until my body adjusts. So far, since day 1 I lost an inch and a half on my waist and I lost 3 lbs. I fluctuate a lot when trying to lose weight between losing 5 lbs and gaining it back. The goal is to lose it and keep it off.

What it is?

Alpha female Stack: Burner- what will give you the energy ( contains caffeine). Continue reading ‘Review: Shredz Alpha-Female Stack for energy/weight loss.’

Sweetreviewer: Where I’ve been and I’m back…

cropped-2untitled.jpgSo… I am back after a long hiatus. I decided to write my thoughts on people, places and things once again. I am writing as my sons’ take a nap. Yes, I am a mother now. When I first started my blog back in 2009. I barely had a year living in Arizona, before that I was writing my reviews for associated content they were bought off by yahoo. Anyway, I digress, I stopped writing because my job in the legal field got in the way. I still dined out and cooked, that never stopped me from doing the things I liked doing. I wasn’t documenting it though. I have a lot of photos that I want to share.

My youngest son is 5 months old. I quit my day job due to a lot of issues that were happening at that time. I was pregnant and stressed, my mom was and is sick and I decided to bring her back from NY to AZ my 17 year old brother came along with her since she could no longer work. I was not only taking care of my 2 yr old, myself, my husband and now I took upon the responsibility of taking care of my mom and my brother.

Right now things are better. My brother is attending a school where he is a resident there and visits. The kids though, they are a whole other story. The stay at home mommy’s know this all too well especially when they are not so far apart. I started a company and really haven’t done much with it. I thought that working from home I was going to have more time for myself  NOT true at all.  In fact i just took a pause from writing this to change my babies diaper. I really haven’t had time for much. I postponed a lot of exams I registered to take because of everything that was going on. Despited it all I wouldn’t trade it for the world although stressful at times, it’s what I wanted. I’m taking it day by day, making more time for me, and trying to lose my baby weight.

What are the Benefits of Consuming Wine?

•July 28, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Red Wine is known to have great health benefits as long as one has moderation when consuming it. When consuming wine in moderation you are raising your “good cholesterol (Hdl-Cholesterol) and thinning your blood.”

“The research evidence points to ethanol, or the alcohol component, of beer, wine, or spirits as the substrate that can help lower cholesterol levels, increase ‘good’ HDL cholesterol,”

Red Wine is known to be good for the heart.  Both red and white wine can provide cardio vascular benefit because of the non-alcoholic phytochemicals that wine contains; Such as, flavanoids and resveratrol. Wine is also known to contain antioxidants, especially red wine which is more fruitful with berries and grapes. Continue reading ‘What are the Benefits of Consuming Wine?’
