Mexico is a country that has been the core of tourism for a long time. Is now at the verge of a civil war; if not already in one. I Just watched Geraldo at large on fox news and was stunned when he mentioned that phoenix is “the kidnapping capital of the world now.”

The issue we are having with the Mexican drug cartel is getting even worse. So much worse that they want the us to intervene and help Mexico. They want our military, D.E.A. and DHS to get involved. According to Geraldo, civilians are being threatened; smugglers are kidnapping aliens and telling them they will be decapitated. They provide them a cell phone to collect ransom from their families. 8 little girls were kidnapped and it was traced to a drug cartel. Apparently, it has been happening since 2004.

“Kidnapping has increased in phoenix Arizona over 300 percent.” Kidnappers are even dressing like police officers in order to invade a persons home. He mentioned that El Paso Texas, which is right across the border from Mexico; has had 20 homicides. While Ciudad Juarez has had over 2,000 homicides. Apparently, Mexican street gangs have ties with the Mexican drug cartel. The gangs that are involved are the Aztecas and two others.

The mayor of El paso Texas agrees with Geraldo when he says that U.S must help Mexico. Geraldo’s stand point is that the U.S; is the one that’s buying the drugs from them. Therefore, we must help. The ambassador of Mexico Arturo Sarukhan mentioned that”6,000 were killed last year and 1,000 were killed along the border.” The ambassador emphasized he would like the U.S. to get involved on our side of the border to”shut down weapons and all cash flow.” States like California, Arizona, and New York are the biggest buyers. The residents of Mexico are resulting to drive armored cars in order to survive. The problem is that these vehicles are extremely expensive not everyone can afford them. What if these vehicles get on the wrong hands. Some cars throw some sort of fog to blind the person that’s pursuing him or her. Most likely the smugglers, drug dealers, are the ones that will end up using these. Sorry to say it, but its partly true. They are going around threatening to kill people, and go through with their threats. According to the The NY Times, the traffickers wanted Chief Roberto Orduña Cruz, a retired army major who had been on the job since May to resign from his position and to let them know they were serious “they vowed to kill a police officer every 48 hours until he resigned…. They first killed Mr.Orduña’s deputy, Operations Director Sacramento Pérez Serrano, together with three of his men. Then another police officer and a prison guard turned up dead.”

Have they become to powerful to control?

If the U.S. doesn’t act fast we will have a serious problem. We have to come up with a strategy, and act fast. How can this be stopped and eliminated? The border patrol can only do so much when they try to stop them from coming inside the U.S. The drug cartels are even sneaking through underground tunnels.I agree with F.B.I. agent from San Diego, CA; when he stated that regardless whether we try to stop, or prevent this; they will still find a new way to continue these crimes. This is a serious predicament indeed. Some people might say we shouldn’t bother to help Mexico but at the same time if we don’t, we run the risk of the cartels, and all the crimes to follow us here and possibly take over.
