More twitter news, this time because of an unfortunate mishap.
I personally, like twitter as I have mentioned before because it allows you to promote or showcase your work to followers. The girl, Maria Barbu died at seventeen years old in Romania. According to police, she was using her laptop in the bathtub and attempted to charge it when the battery died. Her hands were wet and resulting in her elctrocution. When you start over-using social networking sites and become obsessive that’s a problem; As with anything else. If one can’t handle twitter than one shouldn’t tweet. What I found shocking as well as unsympathetic were the horrible comments that I read regarding the teen girl. I first read the story while accessing socialmedia.com Yes, I agree it was not the smartest thing to do. But the girl is dead. Let her rest in peace. People made comments like “what a stupid idiot” and “she deserved it” some mocked her saying “ proof that twitter can be shocking at times.” And some just “Laughed out loud” saying it was hilarious and that she must have been a blond. It’s definitely disappointing the lack of sympathy that people have towards others misfortunes. I’m sure her parents are devastated. They were the ones that found her dead. Hopefully people and teens learn something from this. The overuse of social media sites will make you obsessive sometimes it may even cause your death.
