Coffee, is it really good for us? Pros and Cons of Coffee.

My Cappuccino at Craft in NYC
We Coffee drinkers tend to over do it with the cup of joe. Especially if you are always racing through life, trying to get things done. In fact, I’m drinking coffee right now. We drink coffee when we have a deadline, and believe it will help us stay awake. Or after a night out dancing. We drink coffee to help us function in the morning and alleviate that oh! so dreadful hangover! But we don’t realize that sometimes it might not be so good for you.
You know the old saying too much of everything is bad for you.
So what are the Pros and Cons of Coffee?
Based on 19,000 analytical findings on the health impacts of coffee.
It was found that trigonelline; which is what gives coffee that sweet aroma; could reduce cavities and headaches. Are you serious?
Coffee may prevent cavities but it will stain your teeth and that’s a fact that can be proven by excessive coffee drinkers; just by looking in the mirror and smiling. I only drink one cup a day and if I don’t, my head starts hurting. Coffee is addicting, and when you stop drinking coffee your head hurts, so you have to keep drinking it. It doesn’t really prevent headaches. It causes them.
Another coffee benefit might be that it fights diseases. Apparently, the trigonelline in coffee has antioxidants more powerful than blue berries or broccoli.
If one drinks 2 cups of joe a day it will boost athletic speed, endurance and muscle fatigue. Another said coffee benefit, is that by 25%, it lowers the risk of colon cancer and gallstone liver disease by 50%;It lowers Parkinson’s disease by 80% !
6 cups of coffee a day is said to have lowered the risk of type 2 diabetes by 54% in men,and lowered it by 30% in women.
Bunilda Nazario, a Sr. Medical editor on web md states that “we still don’t know what derivative of coffee reduces risks of diseases”.
To reduce the risk of getting hypertension and and heart problems.
One must avoid french press, and Scandinavian coffee; in which the coffee beans are boiled.
Also, pregnant women must avoid drinking coffee because they might be at risk of a miscarriage.
I say drink away just not in an excessive amount. If you feel that you’re heart beat is racing is because you overdid it . When you are about to do a presentation or need to study if at all possible, try to avoid coffee. I learned it the hard way, it just brings more anxiety.

These are such good points about coffee! My parents used to own a coffee shop, and as a part of the corporate training process, I was educated in practically every nuance about the product, including all the aforementioned health benefits. Happy cup-a-joeing! 🙂
